The DR2-D1920-S01-G1 double-rate camera series is based on the SONY IMX174 CMOS image sensor, which\u2014thanks to its low saturation charge and consequently high sensitivity\u2014is particularly well-suited for low-light applications. The IMX174 sensor is available in standard black-and-white. Equipped with Photonfocus Double-Rate Technology, these cameras are nearly 100% faster than standard GigE cameras and require only a single data cable (no link aggregation). The camera is equipped with the GigE interface (GigEVision).
\nThese camera models were developed for demanding machine vision applications. Thanks to the sensors\u2019 low saturation charge, the cameras are particularly well-suited for low-light applications.
\nThanks to their global shutters, high-speed applications with exposure times in the microsecond range are possible. For the application areas described, Photonfocus has developed Double-Rate (DR) camera technology, which is based entirely on the standard implementation of the GigE interface and the standard software protocols GenICam and GigEVision, but provides nearly twice the bandwidth. This allows standard tools and libraries from the field of industrial image processing to be used for implementing high-speed image acquisition systems. Multi-camera systems can be easily set up, as the GigE standard is not deviated from\u2014unlike with point-to-point connections using link aggregation. This avoids the drawbacks of systems based on cameras with link aggregation from the outset.
\nAnother advantage of the modulation technique used is the format-preserving storage of image data. The storage requirements for image sequences are nearly halved, which, together with format-preserving storage, enables fast searches within the sequences. NIR markers are often used in image analysis systems during image acquisition.
