Optimized nutrient application using embedded vision for the agricultural industry


High-resolution images captured using hyperspectral imaging (HSI) technology provide researchers and practitioners with entirely new insights into the condition of plants and soils. Over 150 color channels —conventional color cameras record only three: red, green, and blue —ensure a high level of detail and enable the identification and analysis of the subtlest differences.
Embedded vision systems equipped with HSI sensors can determine the content and distribution of water, nitrogen, leaf pigments, and other factors and nutrients in plants and soils. The data provides insight into the uniformity of the crop and enables the economical, targeted application of nutrients.

With their compact design and use of the GenICam and GigE Vision standards for data transmission, Photonfocus sensors and ready-to-use complete systems can be easily and seamlessly integrated into a variety of applications. They are available with integrated processors for direct onboard data processing. This allows results to be visualized and processed immediately.
